I just wanted to share with you that yesterday morning, we began our day with a special prayer for Abby…and for your family. Although we did not know Abby very well, we all remember that every time we would see her (i.e when she accompanied Will to our house when she was only four, at the pool, in school, etc) she always had a smile–what a happy little girl!
I went about my day with Abby very much in my thoughts–I made greater efforts to complain less and compliment more. I made it a priority to call the daughter of one of my patients who just lost her father that morning. I slowed down with my patients, allowing extra time for them to express concerns and frustrations.
I think it is wonderful that there has been a day designated to performing an act of kindness in Abby’s memory. It helps us pause in our busy lives to remember priorities–how important it is to treat our neighbors with kindness.
Thank you, Abby, for this,
Harrison, Eleanor, and Claire
